Your store URL & custom domains
Use a Comet subdomain or point your own domain at a store.
Your store URL & custom domains
Every published Checkout Store gets its own URL. You can keep the default Comet address or serve the store from your own domain.
The default URL
Out of the box, a store is published on a Comet subdomain. You set the prefix in Store settings → Shop System — for example social.yourbrand.com style addresses are handled for you, pointing at Comet's edge.
Using your own custom domain
To serve a store from a domain you own (e.g. shop.yourbrand.com):
- In Store settings → Shop System, add the custom domain.
- At your DNS provider, add a CNAME record pointing the domain to
satellites.comet.rocks. - Comet provisions the hostname and an SSL certificate. The status moves from SSL pending to active once DNS resolves and the certificate is issued — this can take a little while to propagate.
You can attach up to three custom domains per store.
Troubleshooting
- Stuck on "SSL pending"? DNS changes can take time to propagate. Confirm the CNAME points exactly to
satellites.comet.rocksand re-check shortly. - Status shows "error"? Double-check there's no conflicting record (e.g. an existing A record) on that hostname.
- Still stuck? Email support with the domain and store name.
Stores run on Cloudflare's edge regardless of which domain you use, so performance and SEO of your main store are unaffected.
